Bamba Night – CHCPPA-UK Dinner Dance 2024

Our Aim of this event.

As an organization, our mission is to uphold the principles of Hindu College, Colombo to foster an environment that promotes holistic learning. We are committed to ensuring that all Hinduites are given the support necessary to reach their fullest potential and that every young mind will flourish into strong professionals and leaders.

The cause to be achieved by this event.

Bamba Night 2023 was a tremendous success, with over 300 attendees participating in the event (Expected to sell 350-400 tickets for 2024). The evening received the backing of 40+ sponsors and raised approximately £9,000 through a combination of ticket sales, raffles, and sponsorships. This significant sum has been fully allocated to support various charitable causes, making an immediate impact on the lives of those in need.

A portion of the funds was used to provide sports equipment vouchers to 30 Needy students in Sri Lanka, with each student receiving approximately Rs. 20,000 worth of equipment. Initial money handed over to the School in February 2024. This initiative, launched as phase one, will continue over the next several years, supporting students through 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028. Additionally, education support has been successfully delivered, with resources already allocated to sustain further educational initiatives. The hunger relief program, in its initial stages, has also received essential backing and will be supported long-term through future raffle sales at Bamba Night 2024.

Looking ahead, Bamba Night 2024 will focus on retaining talented students through “Elevating Excellence: Retaining and Nurturing Talented Athletes for a Brighter Future”, which aims to provide resources for promising young athletes to grow and thrive. This event will also contribute to the ongoing hunger relief efforts and sustain support for education and sports equipment programs. Building on the success of 2023, the 2024
event promises to make an even greater impact, driven by continued community involvement and generous contributions.
